The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill offers individual and group mental health therapy, and a state-of-the-art substance abuse treatment program combining evidence-based and 12 step principles with an intense, focused Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) option integrated into professionally-prepared treatment plans.

Nina Kamelia, MSW, LCSW, LCADC, CCTP is a graduate of Barry University with a Master's Degree in Social Work. For the past seven years, she worked as a clinician conducting assessments, facilitating groups, individual therapy and crisis prevention interventions.

As the clinical director of The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill, Nina ensures all clients treatment is as effective as possible. Her open-mindedness enables her to build rapport and establish trust with every client which helps them reach their goals and be a better version of themselves.

Counselor Christopher Huff, MSW, LCSW, LCADC, CCTP has a Bachelor's in Psychology from Rowan University, and a Master's of Social Work from Rutgers University. While attending Rowan University, he had an opportunity to do an internship at S.O.D.A.T. of NJ where counseling clients with addiction and mental health disorders came naturally to him.

Chris instills the knowledge and insight needed for successful recovery. He is most rewarded when he sees the "lightbulb" come on in a client's head, when they understand why they behave and think the way they do, and then are able to make positive changes in their lives.

A five-year veteran working in substance abuse treatment, Mellissa Arena has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Health Counseling from Walden University. Growing up in Ocean County and seeing addiction in her family and community throughout her life she found the passion for helping these struggling individuals any way she can.

Her focus is to provide a safe and supportive environment so the recovery process can begin. Mellissa’s empathy, passion, and caring personality make her easy to open up to an often painful process into something comfortable and healing.

Administrative Assistant Doug Geary was a chemical dependency tech for Sunrise Detox in Cherry Hill for two years before continuing his career in client care at The Counseling Center. Doug is also a University student, studying Psychology with a concentration in addiction studies.

Doug says that from the moment he began his first job in substance use treatment, he felt that he was where he belonged. He wants to see every client succeed, and will do everything in his power to help them.

Tom Roskin is the Marketing Representative for The Counseling Center throughout New Jersey and New York. Tom earned his Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and was born Roslyn, NY, giving him a dedication to the New York/New Jersey area that can only come from being a part of it. A dedicated family man Tom likes to spend his free time, playing golf, tennis, and working out, along with catching up on some reading, and of course spending quality time with his family.

Tom Roskin brings a sincere commitment to trustworthy support to his work at The Counseling Center, where he represents the outpatient treatment clinics as reliable partners in the Continuum of Care for patients and clients in New Jersey. The Counseling Center : Outpatient Addiction Disorder Treatment in Local New Jersey and New York Communities

The Counseling Center offers state-of-the-art professional outpatient treatment programs and individual counseling, for adults and adolescents, through 8 regional substance abuse treatment centers. Local substance abuse treatment centers are located in FreeholdClarkToms RiverCherry Hill, Monmouth Junction, Middlesex, and Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and in Yorktown Heights serving Westchester County, New York.

Outpatient treatment is a perfect adjunct to inpatient rehabilitation, and for those who qualify, Intensive Outpatient is an effective, comprehensive program of treatment and follow-up care. The Counseling Center works hard to collaborate with treatment centers and providers to maintain a Continuum of Care in support of successful recovery.

Getting Started
with a Clinical Assessment

The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill is an outpatient addiction treatment center for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for addiction, alcoholism, and co-occurring disorders associated with addiction and substance use. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) combines evidence-based, state of the art treatment with 12 Step principles. The IOP is an intense, focused experience designed to enable sober and productive living.

IOP may be recommended for individuals who do not require medically supervised detoxification, and who live within driving distance of the center, and for individuals who have recently completed residential treatment (rehab) and are in the early stages of recovery.

Eligibility for the IOP is based on a clinical assessment. Treatment is individualized, and full information on program options, costs, and schedules will be available after assessment.
