A Full-Service Mental Health & Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey
Welcome, from the Clinical Director
It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill, a full-service counseling center licensed by the State of New Jersey to deliver both state-of-the-art substance abuse treatment and a broad spectrum of mental health treatment options. The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill is part of The Counseling Center network, with convenient local New Jersey outpatient clinics in Cherry Hill, Freehold, Toms River, Fair Lawn, and Clark, and Yorktown Heights in New York.
In the field of substance abuse treatment, a substance use disorder (or addiction) is treated while simultaneously arranging for treatment of commonly-associated mental health issues that may be causing, encouraging, or supporting addiction, or interfering with well-being (these are known as "co-occurring disorders").
In the Mental Health field, these same situations are addressed with what is known as "dual diagnosis" treatment -- another name for making sure both substance abuse and mental health issues are simultaneously treated.
Come in for qualified, professional help with substance abuse disorders, addiction and addiction disorders, Obsessive Compulsive & related disorders, Trauma & Stressor related disorders, Bipolar & related disorders, Depressive Disorders, Personality Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, ADD (attention-deficit) and ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactive) disorders, as well as most mental health/behavioral health issues.
We Have What You Need
At The Counseling Center, we are privileged to be licensed for both Substance Abuse Treatment and Mental Health Treatment. This allows us to focus on the individuals and the families, treating whatever conditions deserve attention, whether they are formally classified as mental health issues, substance use disorders, or addiction.
We seek to provide care for individuals as well as the families, loved ones, and the community impacted by alcohol or substance use disorder, and mental illness.
We treat adults and adolescents with substance abuse issues, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders including those with primary mental health diagnosis, as well as patients who are diagnosed with a mental health disorder only.
Our programs offer outpatient care tailored to fit your personal needs, and to support your journey into recovery, including day, evening, after-school, and Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP).

We Will Help You Every Step of the Way
With evidenced based practices such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Rational Emotive Therapy, and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), we learn together how patients’ thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors all affect one another. We learn how to identify negative thinking patterns, and how thinking influences us.
In our state-of-the-art addiction treatment programs, these evidence-based practices are combined with effective substance abuse disorder treatment methods to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.
This road can be challenging and difficult, but we will commit to providing you the resources necessary and the assistance required, from myself and my staff of dedicated professionals. We are your loyal guides and coaches, as you journey into this process of recovery.
At The Counseling Center, caring, compassionate, and professional staff will assist you in identifying goals and areas to work on for personal growth and development. Recovery-based and peer supports will be available and encouraged, to assist you in establishing and managing a new way of life. A life free from the chains of alcohol, drug use, and mental illness.

with a Clinical Assessment
The Counseling Center at Cherry Hill is an outpatient addiction treatment center for adults and adolescents seeking treatment for addiction, alcoholism, and co-occurring disorders associated with addiction and substance use. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) combines evidence-based, state of the art treatment with 12 Step principles. The IOP is an intense, focused experience designed to enable sober and productive living.
IOP may be recommended for individuals who do not require medically supervised detoxification, and who live within driving distance of the center, and for individuals who have recently completed residential treatment (rehab) and are in the early stages of recovery.
Eligibility for the IOP is based on a clinical assessment. Treatment is individualized, and full information on program options, costs, and schedules will be available after assessment.
